He has a unique background, with over twenty years of on-the-job experience and advanced academic credentials in Organizational Behavior and Management. After earning a Bachelor's degree in Geography from the University of California at Davis he joined the Peace Corps in Brazil.

His tenure there gave him a surprising perspective about how organizations, government and cultures really work. While pursuing his Masters Degree in Public Administration, he worked for five years for the State of California as a consultant and trainer. In 1975 he began a seven year period of being a senior consultant for Kepner-Tregoe, and then an executive for Landmark Education.

In 1981, Dr. Liberty used his extensive education and experience to create what has emerged as The Liberty Consulting Team. He began his doctoral work in 1982 and received his Doctorate from Sierra University in 1985. In 1984, he became a principle consultant to NASA in the study, and later the creation, of a new technology for creating High Performance Teams who will live in the space station. He has personally trained and consulted with over 100,000 managers and staff and is the personal coach to countless managers and executives. He has published numerous articles and is the author of Leadership Wisdom: A Guide to Producing Extraordinary Results. He is a widely sought after speaker, lecturer, and educator because of his ability to weave together powerful principles and concepts with practiced and tested tactics, and a personal commitment to having learning be engaging, challenging, and fun. At his trainings and workshops, you will be summoned to observe yourself, the quality of your thinking, actions, and results.

The Liberty Consulting Team provides four unique types of consulting services: CONSULTING: Analyzing past, current and future conditions and providing expert assessments and recommendations as to future courses of actions. When we are in a "consulting" partnership we expect the clients to make their own final determinations about what actions to take after thoughtful consideration of our recommendations. FACILITATION: Typically done in "team building" or "conflict resolution" settings our job is to remove barriers to success and effectiveness. We generally accomplish this by direct observations, lecturettes on key issues, or through individual feedback to participants, either publicly or privately. TRAINING: Please consult the Programs section of this site to determine the specific types of training that we deliver. COACHING: First developed in 1984 as a intervention we use coaching as a special tool to develop and evolve the skills of key managers, staff, and executives. Coaching always combines direct, unfiltered feedback to the client, with either recommended actions or requested actions. Coaching is not for the faint of heart or the people with low tolerance for corrective feedback.
